This camp blew all others out of the water.

July 21, 2017: My son has been to a variety of different sport camps and he said "This camp blew all the others out of the water."  He loved the hard work, the drills, the breaks, and everything about the camp.  The only negative things he said was "the wait time for food and for the showers were bad if you slacked off at all."   That's just life and I'm glad he now understands why we always say "Hurry up!"  haha

Our camp highlights:

1.  All types of drills for all players, not just for one position.
2.  The boys had responsibilities without their parents holding their hand the whole time.
3.  The meaning of true "team" effort was put forth on different levels
4.  Friendliness & support of the staff.

I cannot thank the staff enough for making this experience great and the competition between players even better.

A renewed passion for the game.

July 21, 2017: This camp gave my son a renewed passion for the game. I cant get him off the court now. He has also decided NOT play football to focus on basketball! Yippee!

My son learned new techniques on his foul shot.

July 21, 2017: My son learned new techniques on his foul shot shooting and literally came home and started practicing that evening when he got home. My one suggestion is to have air conditioning in the dorms but I know that is not necessarily an option in all situations.

A great first away from home experience.

July 21, 2017: My son said he had so much fun.  He really liked being in the dorm and having his friends there.  He really enjoyed all the basketball games and drills as well as the league play in the evenings.  It was a great first away from home experience.

The coaches helped me improve my fundamentals.

July 21, 2017: The 5 on 5 was the most fun for me.  Dorm room as hot. The food was delicious but lines were very long. The gym was nice.  The coaches helped me improve my fundamentals.

My daughter's second year attending!

August 2, 2017: My daughter had a great time - this is her 2nd year attending!  From the friendships the hard work on the court...she enjoyed all aspects of camp! There are so many benefits from McCracken basketball camp!  My daughter was pushed, challenged and expected to be on her game at all times - which is what I would expect from a camp.  The skills that she developed and worked on will definitely help her with her game this winter.  Thanks so much!  Great experience!

Praise for the camp cafeteria staff!

August 2, 2017: I have to say as a parent of a little girl just diagnosed with celiac disease, your camp cafeteria staff needs to be greatly praised for going above and beyond making sure my daughter was well taken care of and protected from any gluten in her foods!!!  My daughter told me of many times they went out of their way to take care of her. Thank you!!!   Please let them all know we say thank you!!

My daughter had so much fun!

August 10, 2017: The first comment from my daughter after camp was ho w much fun she had. The highlights for my daughter were playing basketball in a fun environment and making new friendships. She said this camp was different because no one cared what level you played at, everyone respected each other and the coaches kept the workouts fun.

Great competition for my daughter.

August 28, 2017: As a dad, I liked that my daughter was placed with older girls. It did make it more difficult for her to compete for ribbons though but hopefully next year she will be ready for it!

"I learned so much"

I learned so much about basketball during my week at camp -- and also some things about teamwork. I probably could not have made it completely through Defense Day and Stations without the coaches and the team that I was with.

"Kudos to the McCracken Organization"

As a parent of a two-time camp attendee, I'd like you to let other parents know a couple of things. First of all, this camp is not for the lazy or unmotivated. My daughter comments all the time about how challenging she found camp and how much she loved it. She's remembering and using what she's learned from camp in her regular season play. Second, if you’re looking for a basketball camp that is truly worth the "price of admission"...THIS IS IT. You as a parent get the satisfaction of knowing your money isn't being wasted but more importantly, the skills and lessons your child will come home with are priceless. The McCracken Organization employs terrific coaches for the camps. Coaches who can communicate and teach, while promoting good sportsmanship and FUN. Kudos to the entire McCracken Organization !

"I had so much fun"

I had so much fun. I have improved tremendously on my post moves. I am now shooting around the paint and outside of the paint because of your camp. If you had seen my shooting before, you would know that I have made a big improvement. Thanks to you and your staff for helping me develop my skills as a leader and as a player.”

"I just wanted to say thanks"

I just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity to be a counselor for the last two summers. I made so many friends and taught children a sport that they and I both love. But teaching them about basketball was not the most important thing. The most important thing your camp does is to teach these kids about life. McCracken Camps provide campers with discipline, motivation, sound skills, and leadership, but most importantly self-esteem and friendships. I feel extremely special to be a small part of this wonderful camp.
